The focus of this tutorial is taking photos, storage and distribution of photos.
There are many different forms of hardware and software. I have made a list below of some examples:
Hardware:

· Hard drives
· Ipod, Ipad, Iphone
· Mp3
· Gaming consoles
· TV
· CD’s
· DVD’s
Software:
· Facebook

· Twitter
· Email
· Trademe
· Youtube
Three examples of digital imaging that provides information and recording are facebook, twitter and email. These three internet websites are all social websites where people are able to load up photos and videos to share with the world.
“A new technology is rarely superior to an old one in every feature.” Some of the pluses of digital cameras are that you are able to view the photos straight after they are taken, you can delete them to take more photos, you are able to transfer the photos from the camera onto other storage devices such as laptops of CD’s. However some minuses are that there is no excitement about getting them developed to see what photo was taken and there is less use of photo albums as they are all stored on computer etc and put onto social internet websites for people to view.
Ethical issues that may arise when capturing and distributing images:
· Privacy issues – respecting people’s privacy
· Informed consent – asking permission to post photos
Some ways that digital images are being used in occupational therapy practice are, taking photos to see clients progress and also taking videos or photos to show the clients family what they are doing and how they are improving.
